It’s funny to see the different cycles that affiliate marketers go through when it comes to traffic sources. One thing will be hot for a while, then it’s dead and the next big thing is the only way to make money. As you know I personally love PPV and use it to promote things every day. But whatever happened to that old stalwart of traffic sources, PPC?
I work at an affiliate network, and I know from experience that there are very few affiliates running PPC these days. It’s true that Google hates affiliates, for the most part. They made it extremely hard for people to make money on their platform. There are some people running offers on Google, but certainly a lot less.
So why am I bringing this up? It may be time to take a second look at PPC (yes the title of this post is sarcastic). I’m not saying to drop PPV, but there is still lots of money to be made on Google and also Bing/Yahoo. These are some of the largest traffic sources in the world. Their sheer volume trumps all the PPV networks put together. It’s going to take more work. You will have to build quality landing pages and deal with the possibility of a Google slap. But for those who persevere, the rewards can be great.
Don’t count the PPC engines out. They aren’t down for the count just yet. While the majority of affiliates have moved on to greener easier pastures, that leaves a lot of inventory out there for the open-minded and experienced affiliate. Go get it.
I remember some on else mentioning this and I thought it was an interesting idea. If you were lucky enough to not get booted it's great because a lot of the crap is now gone.
i made more than 800,000k in google alone this year
Awesome. Promoting CPA offers?
yes edu led gen
I do agree that there are lots of money to be made in PPC. I am one of the unfortunate ones that got life ban on Adwords. Don't even know what's wrong with my quality score as I was only doing direct linking to the merchants' sites. The support team is telling me not to bother them. A large chunk of the $$$ got wiped out overnight and it's sad to start from the bottom all over again.
I'LL BE BACK.
you need to try to get a new account thing are getting good if u play by the rules
i was running a bridge page on Google recently and the web site got black listed and i got a my first !last warring! or my account was going to get ban

Definitely don't forget about PPC. I am having a lot of luck with PPC & physical products these days. I know someone who is still killing it on dating. The money is out there to be made 🙂
I'm getting back into a lot of PPC traffic now days. I LOVE the volume… Amazing really!! haha.
Great post. Google is a great place to be these days. The only thing I hate about bing is the fact that you can only target specific countries upon making the campaigns and afterwards the targeting dissapears unless you contact your rep who suggest you use the desktop tool.
One of the reasons why I wanted to start an ecommerce site. Get back into PPC stuff 😉 haha
Interesting topic. I've followed your posts, but never left a comment, so here's my first one 🙂
I do local marketing here in Finland (my company http://fiercermedia.fi). I do deals with local clients without networks, and I mostly use Google and Facebook. Few weeks ago I started a new project with which Google and Facebook don't work well, so I had to look for new traffic sources. I found couple of good content networks (http://markopyhajarvi.com/advertising/found-couple-of-new-low-competition-traffic-sources/113) providing low cost PPC ads. I'm currently biding between 2-4 cents per click for geo-targeted traffic, but I don't yet have data enough to see how profitable this is going to be.
I'm glad to read that you guys are still doing PPC. I don't want to get kicked out from Google, so I'm playing carefully. Anyhow, I hate their arrogant attitude.
Thanks for the share Marko. I'm always about getting 2 cent clicks.
Cool. Sounds like I found something that I need to dig deeper.
Affjunto… If u dont mind me asking are you capturing leads and mailing them? Not using a squeeze page but an actual business looking site, designed like a service youre offering. That seems to be the way forward with google.
The bulk of my traffic is AdCenter PPC, no competition and super high ROI.
what is the best ppv network?
