Low Cost / High Traffic Niche Markets on DirectCPV

DirectCPV has been sending out some cool newsletters lately. It seems like they are really trying to step up their game and get more people to run traffic with them by actually being helpful! Novel idea, eh? Their latest newsletter actually has two great pieces of information in it so I thought I would share with you in case you aren’t a subscriber.

According to DirectCPV, the top 7 niches that have lots of traffic and not much competition are:

  1. Shopping
  2. Gaming
  3. Sports
  4. Social Networking
  5. Entertainment
  6. Dating
  7. Adult

Honestly I can’t believe that Gaming, Entertainment, and Dating are on this list. Those are all massive niches for CPA offers. Gaming and Dating are self-explanatory, and Entertainment is easy to promote IQ Quiz offers with. You should be able to make thousands of dollars using these three niches alone. If you get creative, you can definitely promote CPA offers on Shopping, Sports, and Social Networking domains as well. It just might take a bit more landing page and campaign design to capture the audience’s attention.

DirectCPV has got the actual domains that have lots of traffic just waiting for bidders listed as well. To see them, just login to your account, click on Advertiser Resources, and choose Low Cost Domains. As an added bonus, they have launched a new Domain Research Tool. You can type in any keyword, and it will give you a list of domains with lots of traffic for that keyword.

I get emails every single day from people asking me where to find the best targets to bid on or how they can make their campaigns more profitable, so I thought I would share this to give you a leg up. There’s no affiliate links for DirectCPV in this post. I just thought it was cool of a PPV network to reach out with some helpful advice for their advertisers.

  1. Hey Josh, as always a good descriptive post!

But some of these URL’s are ones like facebook, wallmart, amazon. I guess need to be really creative or the campaign budget will blow up in secs. The irony is a few good url’s get caught in bidding wars…didn’t people learn the number 0.01 in school!!!

The list may also be a good idea to reverse engineer offers to url’s. Not sure

  2. I agree, their newsletters have been really good lately. Its a stark contrast to the traffic, though. Maybe its just me – I can’t get stuff profitable there.

  3. Interesting newsletters but DirectCPV traffic hardly converts for me.
Some things didn’t add up, decided not to use their services anymore.

    • I’ve heard that they are in the process of revamping their traffic and getting more sources as well. Hopefully that will turn things around.

  4. @jack I’ve also blown through a bunch of cash with DCPV with some things not adding up. I’ve moved them to the back of the line for a while. (I admit, the recent emails are helping me to warm up to them again, *slightly*. 🙂

  5. Since that email went out, all the targets on their lists have been stomped on. At least one clown seems to have bid 50cents on the entire dating list.

  6. I really want to try the gaming niche out. Have you tried that one out Josh? Thanks for the great share Josh. This inspires me to try out the game niche now, even more.

    • Gaming is a great niche! Definitely give it a shot. The main thing to consider is whether you will be pushing Downloads vs Lead Gens. Downloads can be tougher to push on PPV since some of the networks don’t allow them.

  7. That's interesting and will almost deffinately help out, but can you go into a little more detail on what you mean by shopping? and any shopping sites that have affiliate pages? do you just mean amazon type sites?

  8. The blog post is fairly accurate. You just have to know which ones to bid on!

PPC has higher competition compared to CPV in those markets. It's doesnt mean that its not competitive within the CPV market itself. Compared to PPC it's very low.

  9. when your just starting is a good place to start with direct ppv. does direct cpv have everything you need to advertise, and advertise online through google and is that two seperate things . I want to do this so bad but to make money, could anyone give me some advice on what is really good. thank you so much appreciated. than you mary

  10. I have had a little luck with DirectCPV and I’m brand new in the PPV game….what is frustrating is trying to find offers to direct link to that fit in a 800×600 window?!

Am I wasting my time here?

    • It’s definitely not a waste of time, they are out there. Sometimes the advertiser will even create a version for PPV traffic. You can also ask your affiliate manager at your network for offers that will fit in an 800×600 window. The other option of course is to make your own simple landing pages that fit, then redirect them to the offer page in a new window when they click.

        • Yep. In a lot of cases it is even more effective. Every major campaign I’ve ever had used a lander. Direct linking is a decent way to test an offer to see if it converts at all or if it is worth pursuing further, but landers are where the big money is at.
