Affiliate Convention FAILS After 1 Year

UPDATE: As several commentors have pointed out, it looks like what really happened is the partnership that created Affiliate Convention did split up, but Webmaster Radio is going to keep it going.  The new site is live at AffCon2010.com (which I’m not going to link to). False alarm on the convention being shut down, but I do still feel that it was a terrible show last year and they had better do something drastically different to steer the fail boat ashore this year.

  1. Your ability to post a coherent article after a night of open bars is admirable Mr. Todd. My biggest achievement today was keeping my lunch down.

  2. You have the wrong site. The correct site is still up.
http://affcon2010.com/ They changed it quite awhile ago.

I haven't heard anything about it being cancelled and the ads are still up on WebmasterRadio – the sponsor of the show.

You'd think if they cancelled it, they would take down the ads. So I'm not sure if you heard a rumor or if there is truth to it.

  3. Well, it actually hasn't failed. It has been renamed to AffCon2010 and the web site is affcon2010.com. The 3-part partnership has split up and now Webmaster Radio is the sole organizer. The domain name affiliateconvention.com is not owned by Webmaster Radio, hence the name change.

If you take a look at affcon2010.com, you'll see Clickbank is a platinum sponsor. Would they have signed on for a failed conference?

On the other hand, affiliateconvention.com used to redirect to affcon2010.com, but doesn't any more. Looks like a hole that needs to be plugged.

  4. I filled out their contact form with a simple question, 2 weeks go by without a response. So I go to their "new" site/domain, fill out the contact form again with the same question. It's now 4 days later and no response. WTF!?
